THE BATTLE
Jack is an ordinary Christian man caught in a secret struggle with pornography, repeatedly trying to overcome his habit through sheer willpower...
Chapter one
Meet Jack. He Loves Jesus, Goes to church, reads his Bible and prays. To everyone else, he is just an ordinary Christian trying to follow God
But Jack carries a hidden burden - a secret battle no one else can see.
Jack knows it is wrong. He longs for a pure mind, a healthy Marriage, and true freedom in God.
Every time he falls, he promises himself: "Next time I'll be stronger." But the battle keeps returning.
When life gets hard, lonely or overwhelming, a dark shadow begins to whisper old habits and desires.
It tells him porn will make him feel better, sometimes Jack listens and follows.
Tired of the shame and feeling trapped, Jack makes a serious decision.
He decides to use all his strength and willpower to defeat porn once and for all. At least that is what he thinks.
What Jack doesn't know yet is that porn is not his biggest problem, and the battle is not what he thinks.
The Lie
Jack remains trapped by a subtle lie that God reluctantly forgives him and is constantly disappointed in his failures...
Chapter two.
Porn and the shadow were problems, but they weren't the greatest thing keeping Jack trapped.
The greatest problem was a lie about God. A silent belief Jack had carried for years.
Whenever he failed, he imagined God sighing, shaking His head, and saying, "Not again ,Jack."
Jack believed God forgave him because He had to, not because he wanted to. He confessed out of duty.
Jack expected forgiveness. He just didn't expect God to delight in giving it.
In Jack's mind, God's forgiveness meant a frustrated God who wasn't happy about it.
Jack never questioned this belief because it felt humanly true.
If someone was repeatedly hurt, wouldn't they grow tired of forgiving? So Jack assumed God felt the same.
Because of this lie, Jack never felt at peace, even forgiven. He felt distant from God.
Even after confessing his sin he felt forgiven, but not welcomed. Accepted, but not loved. Tolerated, but not delighted in.
The guilt faded briefly, but anxiety remained, instead of running to God, Jack pulled away, feeling dirty and ashamed.
That was exactly what the shadow wanted. A Christian who feels loved becomes strong.
A Christian who feels rejected becomes vulnerable. The shadow worked hard to convice Jack that God was disappointed.
Just enough disappointment to keep Jack from enjoying God's peace, driving him further into hiding.
When Jack felt empty, the shadow offered it's familiar solution: "Just use porn. You'll feel better."
The lie created the emptiness; the addiction promised to fill it. But neither brought freedom.
But the lie wasn't true. God was not reluctant or looking to reject him. God delights in mercy. That truth changes everything.
The Truth
Jack discovers the transformative truth that God delights in mercy and already paid for his past, present, and future sins...
The lie had trapped Jack for years: Every failure pushed him further from God's love.
But the truth was hidden from Him. God's love wasn't based on Jack's progress. It was based on Jesus.
The price was already paid in full. It didn't need to be paid again.
The work was finished. God was not looking at him with disgust. He was looking at him with love.
For a long time, Jack felt he had to earn forgiveness back. Every failure felt like a step away.
Then Jack discovered the wonderful truth: God isn't just willing to forgive. He is ready.
The Bible didn't say Christians live under constant judgment. It said they live in Christ.
Suddenly, Jack realised the truth: He no longer had to hide.
This didn't mean God approved of Jack's sin. Porn was still wrong. Temptation was still present.
But it meant everything when Jack failed. The voices were different.
One voice produced shame. The other produced Hope. Jack finally saw the difference.
For the first time, he heard the voice of his Father.
As Jack embraced God's forgiveness, the knot in his stomach loosened. The anxiety faded.
He no longer needed to hide. He already had God's acceptance through Jesus.
The peace he had searched for was not found in escape. It was found in God's love and mercy.
Slowly, the void that porn once filled began to lose its power.
But Jack knew the battle wasn't over. The Shadow's lies had shaped his thoughts for years.
Old habits do not disappear overnight. Temptation did not surrender.
Even knowing the truth, he needed to learn how to stand firm.
He needed practice living in God's peace. And that's exactly what he was about to learn.
